I Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Today was Brennan's baptism!  It was wonderful!  I am so proud of him and the choices he has made.  I kept looking at him and realizing how fast the time goes.  It seems like just yesterday when I was cuddling him as a baby, and today I felt him slipping from my arms.  All in a good way.  I was just reminded that he is a child entrusted to me by Heavenly Father.  Brennan has a great purpose in this life and I see him maturing and becoming that strong servant of the Lord everyday.  I am so blessed to be his mother!

Of course there are always a few hang ups when trying to follow the Lord's commandments and today was no exception.  When we got to church this morning it was freezing. No heat!  No one thought about it until an hour before the baptism.  No heat because the gas was turned off due to construction.  No gas means no hot water!  Oh no!  Within a few minutes they had called in someone to turn on the gas and lite the pilot.  Pneumonia avoided and hot water was provided.  I am grateful for all my blessing and this was no small one!

Highlights

Highlights on the kids

Connor is taking karate.  He is all smiles and so proud of himself! He has transitioned well with the move, but the other day he asked when we would be done here and go back to Utah.  Connor and Ryleigh have become best buddies.  They play all morning long and have so much fun.  Of course by afternoon the excitement is done and they are fighting like all brothers and sisters do.  Connor has also become a health fanatic.  He is very concerned about his sugar intake and only wants to drink water.  I find his sugar control very intimidating seeing how I live on the stuff.  He is always asking me if my chocolate has sugar and if it is good for him.  I am trying to convince him it is bad for him but necessary for Mommies!

Brennan has become very busy for an eight year old.  We started basketball at Christmas time to give him something to do.  Then he started cub scouts after his birthday.  When you combine those two things with trying to catch up after changing school in the middle of the year it equals some late nights!  He started cub scouts just in time to participate in the Pinewood Derby.  Another project!  He had some special time with Dad though and did well.  He won most realistic car.  He is hoping to race again at the stake level next weekend.  His new school is all about projects and we are working on a science fair and history hall of fame.

Ryleigh is growing way too fast!  She is happy to follow Connor around and do what ever he is doing, catching ants, walking curbs, jumping off of anything, yo name it.  But she does have her girly side as well.  She loves to put on her Cinderella dress, watch Cinderella and listen to Cinderella songs.  Do yo see a pattern.  Poor Brennan has seen Cinderella more times then he would like!  We have introduced her to Beauty and the Beast for some variety and sanity.  Ryleighs other fascination is doing hair.  She got a styling kit for Christmas and can often be found doing one of the boys hair.  They are so patient!  What would we do without our Princess to rule the house?

Life?

Many of you may know we live a crazy, unpredictable life.  I am usually at least two steps behind in all that I do and blogging is no exception.  I can't begin to catch up on all that has transpired in the last 4 months.  Let's just say it has been a whirlwind!  Kyle came home, we bought a house in Alabama, moved across the country, celebrated two birthdays and Christmas amongst trying to unpack, bought Kyle a new truck and then tried to just survive the day to day struggles of life.  Whew!  I'm tired just remembering it all!

My point is this... If my posts seem a little out of order.  They are!  I am so far behind I will just post the highlights for fun.

I hope you enjoy seeing the remnants of our crazy life!
