Happy Birthday Daddy!
Kyle has survived 40 years! Kyle didn't want a big party so we celebrated in our own family way!In honor of his birthday I attempted a strawberry rhubarb pie. Connor crowned him Birthday King! Brennan helped decorate the house in black streamers and even wrapped the presents. i love having such helpful, creative boys! Ryleigh and Kelsey can melt daddy's heart with a simple smile and kiss! We love you, Daddy!

A Million Dollars
Just a funny story I wanted to remember....
While sitting at the dinner table Sunday night we had a challenge. It was not the normal challenge of getting the kids to obey their manners but rather a challenge Kyle issued to Connor. Connor was insisting he could eat a whole turkey burger. I had split one between he and Ryleigh because he often wastes food. Well, he devoured that half and still wanted his own full burger. I gave into him but declared that he would never eat it all. Kyle jumped in and said, "I'll bet you a million dollars you can't finish that!" Brennan immediately said, "I'll do it!" "No, this is Connor's challenge!" Kyle said. Well, he did it! Much to my surprise, Kyle held true to his word and gave him a MILLION DOLLARS! How you say? It was a very genuine looking million dollar bill, to a 6 year old and surprisingly, to a 9 year old as well!
For the next few hours they schemed and plotted on what they would do with the money. I was very impressed! neither of them mentioned a single toy. They were focused Kyle's upcoming birthday. They wanted to buy him a front grill for his truck, a porsche, and they even thought of college. For some odd reason, Connor wanted to buy "a new toilet, because ours is too small". Where does he come up with these things! We have a standard size toilet!
After a few hours we set them down and started showing them how quickly the money would disappear. THey subtracted tithing, taxes, paid off the house, college for themselves and Ryleigh too, Kelsey was too little they said. It then came to each of them with $100,000. Brennan decided to buy a Game Stop franchize and Connor wanted to give it to poor kids. I was humbled by my children. The lesson we set out to teach them had turned on us. They didn't ask for a single toy! Not one thing for themselves, except the toilet!
In the end, it broke my heart to show them the differences in their bill vs a real dollar. They were sad to say the least.

Enterprise Heat
Connor has been playing with the same soccer team for the last year and a half. They have gotten pretty good so the coach wanted to take them to a special traveling soccer tournament. They couldn't go affiliated to the YMCA where they had been playing so they formed the Enterprise Heat. They wore the tie dyed shirts the coaches had made them. While they didn't win the tournament they had fun and realized they had some work ahead of them if they wanted to go again. The good news is the Enterprise Soccer club wanted to claim them as their team so they have now formed a U8 team and Connor is the process of trying out for it. He is a good little soccer player! He is determined and as he will say FAST!

Cinderella and her Prince
Ryleigh has a facination with all things princess, namely Cinderella. I never realized that the sweet girly disney movies would influence my daughter so much. She can't wait to get married just like Cinderella! Well today Connor, who loves to dress up as well, made Ryleigh the happiest girl in the world, at least for these precioous moments that I hope I will never forget! I give you Princess Ryleigh and her Prince Connor!

Atlanta Temple Dedication
The Atlanta Temple was remodeled and therefore rededicated. I was excited that Brennan was old enough to go to the rededication ceremony via satellite. Doesn't he look like a missionary? Another proud Momma moment!
